OK, here is the latest belly pic. Merry Christmas from all of me and all of us.

PUPPPies and Baby

Well, I have developed this nasty rash on my stomach and legs. It's called PUPPP or PEP...has no known cause and itches like you would never believe! I have been using Benadryl gel and cream to somewhat keep it at bay. The only "cure" is delivery, so I have 11 weeks of scratching to look forward to.

I went for a check up and my glucose test tonight. Baby Anna is progressing well...heartbeat was 147 tonight. Weight gain was better this month, too.

Daddy is going to paint next week. I have to pick out a shade of pink that will match her bedding. Hope I can find a nice one.

I should get results from glucose test in a couple of days. Our next visit is 12/26. Every two weeks now! I can't believe how fast this is happening.

Baby School 101

I went to Childbirth Class last night. Willie was finishing up a sales course and couldn't make it. He didn't miss a whole lot. We reviewed some basic terms (like cervix, placenta, vagina and umbilical cord), watched a film where women gave birth in different positions and that was about it.

Hopefully next week we'll do more....supposed to bring our pillows so maybe it will be inter-active with our partners and we can learn different positions. Of course, that's what got most us there to start with!!!

Sweet Stuff

Willie and I went to the OB again last night. I ate Rice Krispies (with some sugar on them) and didn't even think about what it would do to my urine sample! Trace of protein and glucose +1...Dr Sullivan asked me what I ate right before I got there! She laughed when I told her. At any rate, I have a glucose test scheduled in four weeks. Can't wait to drink that sweet syrupy mess.

Anna is fine...heartbeat 133. Mommy, however, has gained a little too much weight in the past month. I won't go into details...but we are more than healthy right now. Too much Halloween candy I suppose.

After my next four-week visit, I will start going every two weeks. Seems like our first visit was just the other day.....

She'll be here before we know it!

Pink is for Girls

It's a girl! Willie and I (and Bean) went for an ultrasound yesterday and found out we are having a little girl. She currently weighs about 1 lb. She has lots of growing to do before Spring. Dr. Sullivan said everything looks good, no problems visible on the scan.

We are so lucky to have a little girl coming into our lives. Our thanks to God and to all our family and friends for their prayers.

In case you are wondering, her name is Anna Catherine. Willie's mother was named Anna (and my middle name is Anne). My grandmother (Mom's side) was named Catherine.

Time to go shopping. Daddy has to paint this winter and Mommy has lots of pretty things to buy.

Sleepless in Lake St Louis.....

Well, I am starting to be uncomfortable at night. The sciatica has forced me to sleep with a pillow between my legs some nights. It's not too bad, yet. Still controlable with Tylenol (and Benadryl works better than I thought it did!).

Heard the Butterbean's hearbeat again Wednesday night. 145 bpm! We will find out if it's a He-Bean or a She-Bean in a couple of weeks. We'll keep you posted!

Kicking and Screaming

I have been feeling the baby moving for about 2 weeks now. He/She has no set time to be active. I have noticed more movement after I drink ice water....not sure if I'm crazy or it really has an effect. My belly is starting to become more baby now, too.

We go back to the OB next Tuesday for a check-up. Then we'll go back two weeks later to see if the baby is a Boy Butterbean or a Girl Butterbean.

Can you hear my heartbeat?

Willie and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat tonight! It was a fast 155 bpm! And just one of them. That made both of us feel much better, too. I will return in 6 weeks for the second ultrasound to see whether we are having a boy or girl. Stay posted for that news!

Feel Like A Million Bucks....

I must say, I have been feeling almost normal these past couple of weeks. I've figured out that I need to eat around the clock, drink water and go pee when my body tells me to. Thankfully, that icky feeling has almost left me. I say almost because it was faintly there this morning.

Another trip to the OB next week. Hoping to hear the heartbeat then. Maybe Butterbean has moved out from under my pelvic bone and we can hear what's going on in there!

Hiding Out

I went to the OB last week. We tried to listen to Butterbean's heartbeat, but to no avail. I suppose BB is still hiding behind my pubic bone. We'll try again next time. Hard to believe that I am almost 12 weeks now! If I could just stay caught up on sleep........

Just the two of us

I had my first ultrasound yesterday. Willie and I got to see the baby's heartbeat! 120+ beats per minute! Dr. Moeller also did a couple of views in 4D Real Time. It was amazing to see this tiny being inside of me that is only 0.77cm long now and to know that it will someday be a live person. God is amazing, isn't he?
